When you're at the start of your IT career, exposure to new technology, access to experienced engineers that can mentor and teach you, and opportunities to be promoted are on the top of your mind. It also can't hurt to work for the 2018 Swale Employer of the Year too (that's us!).
You'll be working with hedge funds, and they tend to invest in their kit... so you can forget everything you know about XP. You won't need it here. We're an IT service provider, and given IT is what we do, we have 30 engineers on our team, so there is no shortage of people for you to learn from. We also have an internal trainer that you can request content from, as well as a lab environment for you to practise with. We are the fastest growing IT company in Kent (based on the 2018 Mega Growth List), as well as the 2018 Swale Employer of the Year too.
In this role you will be responsible for all desktop fixes, supporting users remotely and over the phone. You’ll be troubleshooting Windows 7 & 10, managing active directory and group policy, and liaising with third party support teams and vendors. You’ll gain exposure to Exchange 07 – 13 and Windows Servers 08 – 16 as well as switches, firewalls and other networking equipment. Your success will be measured with KPIs centred around ticket closures, call answer times and accurate logging in our ticket system. We don't limit your access to systems, so you'll never again have to pass over a ticket you know you are capable of handling.
To qualify you will need exposure to a helpdesk support position, with good knowledge around Microsoft Windows OS, Active Directory, and general remote user support. You'll need to be comfortable on the phones, as that is a big part of the role.
The office you’ll be based at is our head offices in Borden, a small village south-west of Sittingbourne in Kent. We are accessible easily from the M2 and based suitably far away from the Sittingbourne rush hour traffic – making your commute easier.
The benefits you will be provided include private medical insurance, 4X salary death in service insurance, 4X salary critical illness insurance, a 3% matched pension, a private counsellor, a £2,000 individual yearly training budget, a mobile phone, a laptop, 33 days annual leave including 8 bank holidays, and the ride2work scheme. We provide a company debit card for your expenses, too. On average, the team earns £2,000 extra in overtime too.
The salary range is £16,000 to £21,000 dependant on experience.
